What happened to the "What's Happening?"?

The church has mailed out a newsletter for years. I have been here for 14 years now, and we have gone from a newsletter a week, to once a month, to big ones at 36 pages, down to a condensed version of 8 pages. Now, you are not getting one at all. So are you wondering what the deal is?

As your "Director of Communications," I have contemplated what to do with our communications, over and over. We have discussed them in staff, taken surveys and now have decided that the best solution is to go with the "Weekly Happenings" and have them available every week. It is VERY important that you pick these up every week. For example, every week we post the giving and expenditures for the church. That lets you know where we stand financially. We have every event and ministry opportunity listed as well as some news you need to know ... it's your link to FBC on a weekly basis. It is the main printed vehicle we have for communication
.

We also have do a great job of keeping up the website. Marcia, our webmaster, works very hard to keep it up to day and user-friendly. The more you use it, the easier it is to use. Bookmark it so you can get to it quickly. We try to get pictures from activities up as soon as we can so you can see what's going on.

We have also been using email for really important and timely information.

I'm new to blogging, and I don't know who will read it, but please, if you are an FBC-CS person, I would more than appreciate your comments and responses.

Shari
